As part of the 2024 Wrapped celebrations of the top artists and songs that formed the world’s soundtrack this year, Spotify is also putting the spotlight on K-Pop - the global cultural phenomenon that has captivated millions of listeners across the world.
Presenting the Global Top K-Pop Artists and Songs of 2024 Spotify Wrapped
Amassing billions of streams this year, BTS has emerged as the Global Top K-Pop Artist of 2024 Spotify Wrapped. The group’s members, Jung Kook (#2) and Jimin (#4), have also ranked amongst the top 5 most-streamed K-Pop artists globally alongside Stray Kids (#3) and NewJeans (#5).
This year’s Global Top K-Pop Songs of Spotify Wrapped are a reflection of the genre’s diverse sounds and styles. On top of the list of most-streamed K-Pop Songs of the Year is “Who” by Jimin, which joined Spotify’s BILLIONS Club this year after maintaining its stronghold on the charts since its release. In second and third respectively are Jung Kook’s “Seven (feat. Latto)” and “Standing Next To You”. V also joins the list with his soul R&B solo track “Love Me Again” at #4, while breakout group ILLIT made their mark with earworm “Magnetic” at #5.
A Landmark Year in K-Pop with Billion-Stream Milestones, Breakout Stars and Iconic Collaborations
The Global Top K-Pop Artists and Songs of 2024 Wrapped reflect the year of remarkable achievements and milestones for the genre, fueled by the unwavering passion of its fandoms.
In addition to Jung Kook’s “Seven (feat. Latto)” crossing 2 billion streams this year, “Standing Next To You” became his second track to join Spotify’s BILLIONS Club. Another notable K-Pop entry to the BILLIONS Club is “Like Crazy” by Jimin, which ranked on the list of Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year at #8.
The year also saw exciting new talent breaking through. Alongside “Magnetic” by ILLIT, “SHEESH” by RADAR Korea artist BABYMONSTER also earned a spot in the most-streamed K-Pop songs of the year at #15. Having made waves with their powerful performances and unique edgy sounds, BABYMONSTER has also proven to be one of the rising artists to watch as they round off the year on the list of most-streamed K-Pop Artists at #18. Additionally, indie rock band wave to earth enters the list at #17, signalling the growth of K-indie on the global stage.
2024 was also marked by iconic collaborations that expanded the global streaming footprint of the genre. ROSÉ’s surprise collaboration with Bruno Mars for “APT.” and LISA’s powerful anthem “New Woman (feat. ROSALÍA)” were standout releases, landing at #6 and #16 on the list of most-streamed K-Pop songs respectively.
