The Upcoming Series Features “Blood Free” Star Ju Jihoon, “Parasite” Star Lee Jungeun And “Pachinko” Star Kim Minha As A Group Of Strangers Trapped In A Mysterious Place
An adaptation of Kangfull’s hit webtoon of the same name, Light Shop Keeper follows six strangers, each grappling with a traumatic event from their past. As they go about their daily lives, they slowly come to realize that something is very wrong—they just can’t figure out what. Desperate for answers and searching for a way back to normalcy, the strangers are drawn to a mysterious light shop at the end of a foreboding alleyway, which holds the key to their past, present and future. Full of mystery and intrigue, Light Shop Keeper promises to take viewers on an emotional adventure through its unique and heart-wrenching premise.
Light Shop Keeper stars Ju Jihoon (Blood Free, Kingdom, The Spy Gone North) as Jung Wonyoung, the owner of the light shop; Park Boyoung, (Strong Girl Bong-soon, Oh My Ghost) as a nurse whose life was changed forever following a near-death experience; Bae Seongwoo (Veteran, The King) as a detective; Lee Jungeun (Parasite) as a distraught mother and Kim Minha (Pachinko, Investigation Partners) as screenwriter Sunhae. The series is adapted for the screen by Kangfull (Moving) and is directed by Kim Hiewon.
Light Shop Keeper is the eagerly awaited follow-up to Kangfull’s acclaimed series Moving. First released in 2023, Moving went on to become the most viewed international original series on Disney+* and has been enjoyed by countless fans across the world.
Upon its release, Light Shop Keeper will join an ever-expanding library of award-winning Korean content now available on Disney+, including hits such as Moving, Big Bet and The Worst of Evil. This year alone, over a dozen unmissable Korean stories have been added to Disney+, including A Shop for Killers, The Tyrant, Blood Free and Flex x Cop, with more titles including Unmasked and Gangnam B-Side set to join before the end of the year.
