Those who are planning to take the 2022 TOPIK (Test of proficiency in Korea), read here are all the relevant details.
This year, the 80th to the 85th TOPIK will be held six times: three times in Korea in January, May, and November, and three times in both Korea and overseas in April, July, and October.Understand the test's structure, levels, and passing scores with this complete guide:
Test structure
This is a single-level exam with two sections: Listening (20 questions and a 25-minute limit), and Reading (20 questions and a 25-minute limit). Both have 100 points each.
Note that these two modules do not have any breaks.
Candidates can choose between two methods: PBT (Paper-Based Test), and CBT (Computer-Based Test).
All questions are MCQ (Multiple-Choice Questions), and you have to pick one correct answer out of four choices.
The examination curriculum
This tests your basic understanding of Korean society, business culture, and industry-specific information.
You also need beginner communication skills in the Korean language to perform daily activities.
The reading segment has elementary vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and practical day-to-day duties.
How to pass EPS-TOPIK?
To pass, candidates need at least 80 out of 200 marks. They must also maintain their position based on a list of high scores.
The final selection, though, depends on the other eligibility criteria and the total number of applicants. HRD Korea decides on this.
How to apply?
Online or offline registration is available.
You can visit the accredited testing centers. Fill out the form, choose the dates and test center, and pay the registration fee.
The validity of EPS TOPIK
The score is valid for only two years from the date of test result announcements. When the actual term expires, one has to retake the test.
