Employment can be difficult nowadays mainly because companies require high educational attainment and experience. Many of us Filipinos chose to get a job overseas because of the high chances and lots of opportunities regardless of educational attainment.

EPS-TOPIK or Employment Permit System – Test of Proficiency in Korean is a type of examination where the examiner’s knowledge of the Korean Language is being tested. South Korea selects foreign workers from different countries such as the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, China, Mongolia, East Timor, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

The requirements of applicants include the following:

1. Male or Female 18 years old to 39 years old
2. No criminal record
3. No experience of deportation from the Republic of Korea
4. No restriction on immigration (the reason for disqualification)

Before taking EPS-TOPIK Examination, each examiner’s profile is being evaluated and filtered through Philippine Overseas Employment Administration’s E-registration.

E-registration is a profile on POEA’s website created by an individual who wishes to work overseas. This profile is being monitored by their system to make sure your encoded information is matched with your submitted documents. If the documents do not match with your profile it can cause disqualification during the registration of examination. If disqualification occurred, you can no longer take the exam of the same year, you must register with your matched information the year after.

During the examination, there are regulations being implemented to mitigate wrong deeds. Punishment of wrongdoer include the following:

Restrictions on the application for cheaters:

• Restrict for three years from the time of cheating

Cheating:

• Communication with other applicants regarding an ongoing test.
• Exchange of answer sheets for the purpose of cheating.
• Checking other applicant’s answer sheets or questionnaires before writing answers during the test.
• Showing or telling the answer to other applicants.
• Possessing, using, or exchanging question-related objects.
• Answer the question with help of others.
• Swapping name and application number with other applicants.
• Substitute test-taking
• Using or Carrying a cellphone during the test.
• Other illegal or inappropriate behavior.

This can be hard as it may sound, but by perseverance and hard work, you will succeed.
