On February 26, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo stated that the Philippines has already imposed a travel ban on Filipinos who wish to travel to South Korea.

He said tourists are not allowed to travel to any part of South Korea for their own safety. On the other hand, there are exceptions to this ban. This was discussed during the Inter-agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases meeting.
The IATF has authorized Filipinos to travel to South Korea, provided that they are permanent residents thereof, leaving for study, or are overseas Filipino workers therein. They are to execute and sign a declaration, signifying their knowledge and understanding of the risks involved, prior to their travel.Panelo also said that those from North Gyeongsang Province cannot enter the Philippines. In addition, the IATF will also assess the situation within 48 hours. If it is necessary to expand the entry ban to other parts of South Korea, it will be done so. In addition, he also stated that areas which will have infection will be included.
As of writing, there are 1,146 confirmed cases of the Corona virus and 11 deaths in South Korea.
