The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) was established in 1971 by the Korean government as the nation’s first research-intensive graduate school for science, engineering and technology. KAIST is ranked as the best science and technology university in Korea, third best university overall (just behind Seoul National University and Korea University), 41st best university in the world, and third best university worldwide established in the last 50 years – only behind Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

- 2018 spring semester reply back deadline – February 16th, 2018
- You MUST be a foreign national and hold a non-Korean passport to be eligible to apply
- Your parents MUST hold a foreign citizenship as well, with a non-Korean passport
- Korean adoptees who are citizens of a foreign country are eligible to apply
- Korean adoptees with elementary, middle and high school education outside Korea are also eligible to apply
